Does your employer have to pay you for a mandatory meeting?

The state I live in is PA, and they want me to go to New Jersey for a mandatory meeting without pay, that is illegal right? I mean they have to pay me for my time being there if Im not mistaken? Does anyone know, I have looked everywhere.Does your employer have to pay you for a mandatory meeting?
Any time your employer requires you to be at work performing duties for them, it is compensate time. In other words they have to pay you for the time. However:

When there is a mandatory meeting, it is permissible to pay only minimum wage to attend the meeting as it is not actually considered worked time.

Employment laws in most states simply state require that you be paid minimum wages. As long as you are paid minimum wages than the company is breaking no rules.

What I would do is call the PA Department of Labor and speak to them about itDoes your employer have to pay you for a mandatory meeting?
They should pay you for the travel time and the meeting itself, and also the funds (such as mileage) to attend the meeting. It's part of the fair labor laws--contact your state's department of labor.Does your employer have to pay you for a mandatory meeting?
As long as you are on company time, YES. But get them to give you something in writing.
