Moving to Dallas, TX. 26 year old young professional. Where to live, meet friends, places to stay away from?

I'm pretty unfamiliar with the area. I will be working on the north side of Dallas, so would like to live around that area. I really need some help on finding a nice apartment that consists of people my age (26), so I can meet friends rather quickly. Rent budget $700-$800 per month. Also, what places should I stay away from and where are places I should go to meet new friends i.e. bars, golf clubs, etc?Moving to Dallas, TX. 26 year old young professional. Richardson, %26amp; Plano are good places to live on the North side of Dallas with low crime, tons of shopping and a lot of activities. They both have Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) if you need it.

A really nice area of Plano where a lot of young professionals live is the Legacy/North Dallas Tollway area. There is more night life, shopping and things to do there than other areas of Plano. They have new, loft style apartments that will fit your budget as well.

Richardson, TX is my favorite city. The best area for a young professional to live is the area of Central Expressway and Campbell Road. The Dart rail runs right through the neighborhood so getting around without a car would be easier from this location.

The University of Texas at Dallas is right down the road on Campbell.

Addison has more crime than Plano or Richardson, but also more night life. The average age of residents is significantly below the state average.

You can also Live in North Dallas, but Northeast and Northwest Dallas have higher crime. Your best bet is to stay North of LBJ Freeway in far North Dallas.

This is a good website to find apartments. I've entered some of the criteria you mentioned into the search for you.

I live in dallas !

theres not too many bad places to live.

the ones that are are obviously bad just from appearance,

and moving to dallas, it's really hard to find a decent place for 700-800$

everything is so overpriced here.

BUT if your willing to pay a little more for rent, downtown dallas has really nice lofts where lots of deep ellum's artists and college kids live!

and lucky you, you'd be near all of the greatest bars, venues, and clubs in the DFW area. you can meet LOTS of great people there (:

good luck !
Check out the Uptown Area. Lots of young professionals, shops, restaurants/bars and apartments and a golf range.

The Marquis on McKinney is a nice apartment building in your price range.

People are out all evening going to the restaurants/bars and walking their dogs.Moving to Dallas, TX. 26 year old young professional. Where to live, meet friends, places to stay away from?
The Uptown area is very popular with young professionals. My niece lives there. You can find clubs, restaurants, coffee houses or a deli within easy walking distance. People are out and mingling a lot.

Unfortunately, the rent is out of your price range.

The north west part of Plano would better fit your requirements. Look down Preston, from Park to Legacy, there are a lot of nice apartments.

Check Frisco as well. If you want to live in Dallas proper, just stay well to the north part of town.
