I met a girl online and we really hit it off were meeting in london for a few days and if we really love each other she wants me to move to california with her, If things go well how can i get to america, i suppose i need a visa but how do i get one.

Your US Citizen online girl must file K1 Fiance Petition for you after you two meet face to face. Once Petition is approved, you apply K1 Visa at US Embassy in UK. K1 process takes from 6 months to 18 months. Once it is approved and stamped on your passport, you can move to US and get married within 90 days before your entry.



After your marriage, you have to apply Adjustment of Status with your then wife's Financial Affidavit to change your status to Permanent Resident (green card). Then finally you can live in US happily after. AOS process takes from 6-8 months, until you get green card in mail.



Therefore, it is totally up to her to sponsor you whether she wants to bring you to US or not. Without sponsor's approved petition, you cannot apply for Immigrant Visa.

You don't need a visa if you're from the UK. Your country is part of the Visa Waiver Program. You only have to go to travel.state.gov and fill out an electronic form which gives them advance notice that you are comming. This will give you three months. Don't tell them that you have any future interest in moving here, just say you are traveling.

If you want longer periods of time, it gets much more complicated. To get a regular visa, you have to go to the US embassy in London. You can't just "move" to the US without a purpose. You have to either:

invest a lot of money (which doesn't seem like the case because you are clearly very young),

get a job that provides an H-1B visa,

get married,

or get a student visa. The student visa is the most realistic option. You simply have to apply to a school and get accepted.



However, this is going pretty far. I would suggest you simply try the states out, and don't base your whole experience on one girl you met. That might not work out. Or, it might work out, but you might not like the US. I know you are young, so you just have to realize that you need backup plans in life. While you are in London visit the American Embassy, there you can obtain information on emigrating to the USA. If you want to live in the USA you do not want a tourist visa!
