Im moving to Oregon and am trying to get atleast a small group of friends that i maybe meet online, that way i wont be so lonely once i get there. I cant figure out how to search for people in certain areas on myspace or facebook...any suggestions on how i should go about this search?How should i go about meeting new people on the internet who live in an area i plan to move to?
I would have to believe that trying to meet people and make new friends using the internet method could be very unwise and dangerous. It can be difficult to judge a person when you can see them and talk face to face, but when you absolutely have no idea who they really are or who could be involved with them, there could be problems with people taking advantage of you. They can portrait themselves anyway they wish online and who's to know? Once you make this move, I'm sure someone "new" moving into a neighborhood will likely attract a few neighbors to stop in and find out all about you and welcome you to the neighborhood! You'll be able to judge the "friends" better and it will be a much safer setting.
