Also be on the look out for book singings (eg. russell brand, portia derossi, etc) or after concerts (I've met the guys from Cobra Starship after their concert). Checking their twitter's is a good one too, because they often post where they're headed to or where they are.

Very possible. Go to Sydney or Melbourne and find out when celebrities are coming to town. I met Anthony Mundine a few years ago in an alley cafe in Melbourne.
