I would take what is known as a bread and butter gift to the parents. Nothing fancy could be as simple as a potted plant. Be a good guest. do not spread your stuff over their house. Help with the dishes and such like. Remember it is everyone's responsibility to keep a house running smoothly and since you are going to be there awhile you need to take on some of that responsibility. Keep your bathroom clean and picked up and keep your bed made. Offer to change the sheets on the bed the day you leave and ask where the clean ones are. If you do not put clean ones on at least strip the bed. Be yourself, do not criticize, be polite, and be flexible. Take a book to read or hand work, something to keep your self busy when they are doing their thing. You should not expect anyone to entertain you all the time. When you get back home within 2-3 days Send the parents a thank you note for their hospitality (Hand written, that will really earn you points.) Most of all have fun.
just be yourself,, dont try to be someone your not they will see right through it!Meeting the parents... who live out of state!?
Just a smile and being yourself will be plenty enough. Make sure your talkative, nobody likes it when the person is ahermet and your trying to get to know them. Good luck !!! Youll be fine!
Ask your bf what his parents are into - gardening, etc. Then bring her - the mom - something appropriate. Keep your room clean, use your napkin, be polite, don't get drunk around them and the day after you get home write them a thank you note - write as in pen and paper NO EMAILS. You'll be fine - have a great time and get to know them...who knows what will happen!Meeting the parents... who live out of state!?
My sister was in this situation recently
If you're going to bring a gift, bring something like wine maybe.
Act normal and just be yourself
A GIFT WOULD BE SWEET AS THEY ARE LETTING YOU STAY, PUT SOMETHING LIKE A PLANT WOULD BE NICE.
JUST BE YOURSELF, YOUR BOYFRIEND WANTS YOU THERE SO THE PARENTS ARE GOING TO BE EXCITED.
Act like yourself. Try to stay calm and show your real self. Be fun and helpful. I think that you should bring a gift for your boyfriend's family. Maybe kitchen cloths or hotplates or something neat for the kitchen. Also add some chocolate or sweets to go along with it. Have fun!
Just be yourself and mind your P's and Q's. I would ask your boy friend what his parents like and give it to them. Help out around the house.
