Americans how proud are you of our President to hold a live televised meeting with the GOP....?

....as he put them in their place, answered every question with respect while defending his policies.....and no teleprompter needed?

Would any past Presidents be able to pull off commentating at a basketball game like he did, and actually look like he knows what he's doing, and know the player's names?

I'm proud!Americans how proud are you of our President to hold a live televised meeting with the GOP....?
One thing for sure, Bush could not have done either of them. It is so nice to have an intelligent President for a change.
Obama appeared to be argumentative and school marmish. He lectured and shook his finger at the Republicans and rejected every single one of their proposals.

Obama and his supporters should be ashamed. Obama claims to want to be bi-partisan, but it was obvious in his face to face with Republicans, that Obama was NOT interested in GOP Ideas or proposals.

Obama's little game will ensure his loss in 2012.Americans how proud are you of our President to hold a live televised meeting with the GOP....?
I didn't see it. I will get to it one day. But logically, it should be an easy win for a President. The askers ask a question, generally short, and the President then gets to pontificate for minutes, fully explaining himself and giving his best case. Then it's time for the next question from someone else.

No debate. No going back to the original questioner where they have a chance to argue the validity of a claim or the wisdom of a policy.
Very proud. To those who claim Bush did or could have done the same, one word-BS. George couldn't find the right door to get off stage.

I hope this is finally the end of the snide teleprompter remarks and the "aws, hums and haws" remarks. Every word was pertinent and every remark on point. Some delivered with humor to a group frozen in their fear, hatred and lack of empathy for their fellow Americans.Americans how proud are you of our President to hold a live televised meeting with the GOP....?
If one is entering a conversation with the idea that the opposing party has nothing worth considering and is going only to hear themselves speak, and such an act is only a stunt designed to create an illusion of dialogue, then we can't really say that we're "proud" of his actions.

There is plenty about Obama which I admire. He's an honest man, loving father, and is highly educated. But enough with the stunts. I voted for Obama because I felt like he was talking honestly with me, not leading me on. Less leading on, more openness.
It was so he could trash the Republicans publicly like he did the Supreme Court judges. Your president thinks he's a King, or a tyrant. Did you know that Hugo Chavez holds a meeting on tv every Sunday so he can yell and humiliate people he's appointed to the government?

It's a strategy.
He was a dumb@ss during that speech. He said the republicans thought health care was a bolshevik plot, I've never seen anything that far away from the truth. He basically says, Republicans are dumb if you don't get on board with health care. Obama is to much of a democrat.
He is a jackazz -unemployment 10.2 ,,debt 3 times higher then it was ... fact speak for itself.. It was all show on his part..

Ethan R--he was not but of course you would forget that. Try Bush..

MJR--so I guess you did not even take anytime checking out his past records...smart move... u r a kid --%26gt;right that ok you kids will be paying for that debt when I'm dead and gone.
Being able to address a group of politicians shouldn't be something to be proud of...it's should be somethign that is expected of the President. Doing it on TV, now, there is a huge waste of resources.
I must have been watching a different program, because the Obama I saw got owned by Republican lawmakers, side-stepped every issue, and made excuses for every failure.
I don't think he "put them in their place".... and I welcome any form of non-partisan cooperation from either side.

The fact that Republicans even participated in the discussion was unexpected, but also encouraging.
Obama got owned by a freshman congressman from Utah. I thought the 13th Amendment did away with that. It was friggin' embarrassing.
So you're proud of a grown man who throws temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way?

Just wait until November, when you find out how many voters out there just flat don't think the way you do.
His Handlers set that up. it was not as great as you say. You are a Troll.

btw: Obama lost and Scott brown will be the REAL Presidnde tin 2012.
i was impressed, hard to imagine shrub doing anything comparable!
Indifferent. Its all posturing anyway.
No other president has ever had to go to such extremes before...that alone should tell you something..
The real question is why did he not televisie the secret meetings that were held in the White House in regards to Health Care?!
Yes, that was a seemingly good tactic.
He didnt fly a Navy plane on to a carrier.
I thought it was a good move on his part.
bush did it in 2005. but he did not ask for the press to be there.
It was fun to watch.
I think he is the first to do it. I understand where your coming from, I'm proud too.

Your comment "as he put them in their place" is going to get you some bashing you may not have received otherwise. Obama did not put them in their place (God, I still can't believe he is our president).

George W. Bush could have done the same.
