How do i go about meeting modeling agents?

I would like to be signed to elite. but where do i start? I live in NYC. I'm 5'11 125 pounds. 21 years old. Am i too old? How do I start? How can i speak to modeling agencies or make appointments to speak with them?How do i go about meeting modeling agents?
Elite does not hold open calls in NY. They make everyone send in pictures through their website, and they will call you if they think you have potential and want to see you in person

i suggest getting pictures taken (photoshoot) or simply have a friend take some with a digital camera. if you are going to do the second one, be outside in good lighting, DONT wear a lot of makeup, remember that you want to look as young as possible, and you dont want to set an image for yourself. so by wearing natural makeup and very little of it, you are showing the agency that they could put any makeup on you and it would look good, not just a certain look that you are wearing in the picture. you should wear blue fitting jeans, a white cami, with a white button up shirt on top, not buttoned. THEN, send the pictures in online. if you go to elite's website, hit apply, put in the necessary info, upload the pictures, and apply. then they might call you or email you back! good luck!
first off, unfortunately just about everyone wants to be signed with elite. being tall and thin really doesnt cut it; everyone that sends in their photos and resumes are tall and thin, and they get thousands of submissions per week. being 21, yes, you are quite old to just be starting, and elite generally wont book a girl for fashion that has no experience and is already in her 20's. you have to have a look that is so unique, you stick out in a sea of gorgeous, tall and thin girls. also, you cant just call up the agencies and talk to an agent; if you could do that, theyd be on the phone all day, dealing with people who are dying to get signed. you have to do what everyone else does; send in specific snapshots, measurements (which they are very specific about; its not about weight, its about proportion) plus dress and shoe size (anything above a 2 or 4 isnt considered for fashion usually; unless she is a plus size girl) to the agency, and pray they see something in your that none of those other girls have. dont count on one agency to sign you, ESPECIALLY elite- they are the most competitive, reputable and selective agency in the world, and only about .1% of the girls that try to get signed with them actually do. they get really annoyed when girls call agencies with questions, so dont do it; just stick to the basic guidelines everyone has to follow. speaking with someone doesnt improve your chances, and theres nothing you can say or do to do that; its based mainly on looks on how photogenic you are.
