All San Antonians have their prefernces, but there are nice areas all over the city. The choices are going to vary dependent on you ability to pay.
I like the 281 corridor north of downtown. Inside loop410 you have the Quarry area, Alamo Heights and lots of nice historic areas close to the downtown area, but still outside the downtown issues. There are some great areas in Southtown, but I would rather visit them than live there, personally. Many people like the King William area, and it is very nice, but dependent on where you are, the taxes can be high for the services you recieve. In the 281/1604 area, and around Henderson Pass there are numerous apartments complexes, where younger San Antonians live, and the area has some great shopping, restaurants, and has access to the city easily on 1604 and 281. This is also one of the fastest growing areas of the city. There is a lot of new development around I-10 and 1604, and an interesting new area is being developed where there will be apartments and condos over the restaurants and stores so you can walk through the area and not have to drive as much.
The best idea, since the area is so spread out, and mass transportation is only fair in the city, and fuel is getting high is to find a nice area near your work if possible.Im 27 and moving to San Antonio. Where is the best and safest place to live to still meet people %26amp; have fun?
I'm also partial to the North Central and Northeast closest to North Central. I like the 281 area because it's easy access to downtown, there are many colleges very close by, you can go by car or bus to get just about anywhere. I like the quarry area because it is close to all the more eclectic artistic areas. Also lots of fun nightclubs on Broadway and downtown and 281 and 1604. If you are family oriented I would say the Northwest. If you are young and want to experience San Antonio, I would say North of downtown.
I'm partial to the North Central and North East of San Antonio.
I live just outside of Loop 1604 near IH-35 and have for over 20 years. I live in an older neighborhood with smaller houses (built in the 1960's and about 1000 sq ft). The cost of these are less than $100,000 and I have a yard and garage.
The rooms are small, but I still have a house, yard, garage and money left over for a life.
North Central has some really nice areas, nice price tags to go with them. Depends on what you can afford.
Lots of people like the Quarry area - it's a nice area - shops, restaurants, sports bar, movies.
Good luck!!Im 27 and moving to San Antonio. Where is the best and safest place to live to still meet people %26amp; have fun?
i would move outside of the loop (loop 1604) not so into the city. i live out side of 410 on the geographical west side (west side to san antonians is the ghetto). if you have money and patience with development go to the northside, thats basically the most decent area of the city.
maybe right outside of the county line in guadalupe county in schertz. my grandparents live there
dont go to stone oak...
anywhere north of downtown..not so much east
and not south
just north
lol
this prolly doesnt help you
How about the corner of Utopia and Fantasy Land? Come on,grow up. Any city you move to has crime in it. No matter where you go,every culture has good and bad.
Oh,and in case no one ever said it, Welcome to San Antonio!Im 27 and moving to San Antonio. Where is the best and safest place to live to still meet people %26amp; have fun?
if you want to be safe and have fun, i would say anywhere on the north west side of town. there is nice dinner spots, sport bars, clubs and more. this side of town will more then likely be most convenient to you.
The northeast side is great it also has lots of stores and theatres near by plus if you have kids schools are great.
