How many people live in multi family households?

I mean, live with parents, or friends, to help make ends meet. And does the US government not take this in to account when saying our economy is not in trouble. I mean, if you have 2 families living together, paying bills together, from appearance they are doing well, but, in all reality, they can not live out on their own. I honestly do not know anyone that does not have additional people in their household.How many people live in multi family households?
i am on the flip side -- i do not know any multi family households!!!
