A and B live 3 mi. apart. A walks 2.5mph and B walks 3.5mph. How far will A walk before meeting B?

If you combine their speeds and consider them as just one person going from A to B, their speed is 6 mph. This makes the time to cover 3 miles half an hour, or 30 minutes. Then take this answer and use the distance = rate x time formula and solve for D to get 1.25 miles (D = 2.5 x 0.5)
