How was your first meeting with your new partner's children?

My new partner of 4 months would like me to meet his 4 children.

The children (ages 14,11,9%26amp;6) actually live in Egypt with their mother, and my partner usually visits them there as he goes back quite a bit.

However, on this occasion, he'd like them to come over to England so they can meet me (and my 3 y/o daughter).

On the one hand I can't wait to meet them, but obviously I'm a little worried about whether they'll like me, etc.How was your first meeting with your new partner's children?
Firstly, its good that you've waited a little while before meeting them.

I think in a new relationship you need to do a little bit at a time so everyone involved gets used to the situation.

They are probably just as nervous as you are about meeting for the first time.

Maybe on the first day with them plan something fun, so that you're not all sitting around trying desperately to keep the conversation flowing.

When i met my partners daughter for the first time ( after several months ) we all met up ( along with my son ) at Centre Parc for the day. We did loads of activities and had a great time. No difficult moments.

Just be yourself. Have a special gift for each of them that your partner helps you pick out so that they will be personal. Don't pressure them to accept you, just let it happen on its own time. It may take longer with some than others. If they see that you truly love and respect their dad they will at least learn to appreciate you.
