I need to find a meeting for my journalism class. It has to be news worthy of course. Any ideas?

I've come up with a few but nothing I love! I kind of want to find some kind of Town Hall meeting (the one a/b I-69 is taken). Does anyone know of any meetings going on in Houston this month?

I know this is not about travel in Houston but there are a ton of people who live in Houston on here!

So please, if you know of anything at all I could use some help!

Thank you!I need to find a meeting for my journalism class. It has to be news worthy of course. Any ideas?
Newsworthy... hmmm, Houston... hmmm, there's always a City Council meeting.

What about a new restaurant opening? A new style of cuisine is certainly newsworthy.

I don't recommend stalking ZZ Top, however.
Go watch the Rockets play

Say its an "Athletic meeting"I need to find a meeting for my journalism class. It has to be news worthy of course. Any ideas?
There are town meetings in different subdivisions all the time. The Woodlands Community Association has monthly meetings, as do many other master planned communities in the area. These meetings are open to the public. Or your local school board meeting, or one of a school district nearby. You could ask to attend a meeting of a school organization such as Interact, and report on that. Look around you. Your school and community are busy places :-)
There are a lot of community meetings about the trans-texas corridor as of late (or is that the I-69 you're referring to?). You'd have to look them up, because I couldn't even venture a guess as to where they are. There is also the democratic presidential debate coming up. That's definitely news-worthy, although not quite a meeting, so to speak.I need to find a meeting for my journalism class. It has to be news worthy of course. Any ideas?
Try the Energy Summit that the Greater Houston Partnership is putting on on Feb. 28th at the GRB. Presidential candidates are supposed to be in attendance talking about energy issues and taking questions
School board meetings

Water board meetings

Drainage district meetings

County Commissioner meetings

Realty investment districts

Realty redevelopment districts (like Mid-Town)

City meetings, town meetings

Police commissioner meetings

Harris County Commissioners meeting would be news worthy due to Chuck Rosenthal's activities

Think of a govermental entity and then search online to see if they have an agenda and a date posted. The agenda will decribe what is to be lawfully discussed.

Or go to a county courthouse as you will often find meetings posted there on a bulletin board.
