The believer has the capacity for godliness because the Spirit of God lives within him or her. He still has the capacity for sin as well, but he now has the ability to resist sin and, more importantly, the desire to resist and to live godly. When Christ was crucified, the old man was crucified with Him, resulting in the Christian no longer being a slave to sin (Romans 6:6). We “have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness” (Romans 6:18).
At the moment of conversion, the Christian receives a new nature. It is instantaneous. Sanctification, on the other hand, is the process by which God develops our new nature, enabling us to grow into more holiness through time. This is a continuous process with many victories and defeats as the new nature battles with the “tent” in which it resides—the old man, old nature, flesh.
Not unless you're name is Jesus of Nazareth...Camp Meeting Monday! Is it possible to live victorious over sin, and the sin nature?
Not by our own power!
We can only be victorious THROUGH Christ-NOT by ourselves!
I don't. sin is too much fun.Camp Meeting Monday! Is it possible to live victorious over sin, and the sin nature?
Yes...
God gives you the strength. Be patient with yourself, but not complacent.
Not on our own. Left to my own devices I would surely perish. With Gods help all things are possible. Prayer is the means by which all virtues can be obtained.
If someone can practice the virtue of chastity the others wont seem that difficult to eventually obtain. Lust of the flesh is implanted in the heart of every human being. It wages war against the spirit. The spirit must subdue the selfish desires of the flesh if any victory is to be spoke of.
Absolutely. You do this by the Holy Spirit alone. As christian, we have the power over sin. As soon as the thought of sin enters your mind, shut it down immediately! Don't entertain the thought. People think that once you've committed the sin, it's then that you are defeated. You are already defeated when you entertained the thought. Defeat the thought and you will be victorious. With Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you control sin, it doesn't control you.
By the blood of Jesus Christ, and the power of the Holy Spirit, it is done. WE cant do it, but Jesus can.
We are no longer under the old fallen sin nature, but in the nature of Christ, the new creation man .
IF it werent possible, God would simply not COMMAND IT.

Because we're Believers we do not become sinless;
but through the Holy Spirit we can overcome temptation.
SIN IN THE BELIEVER:
It is a reality: 1John 2:1-6; 1John1:8-9.
It can be overcome: Romans 6:11-14.
Living victoriously over sin and the sin nature doesn't necessarily mean that you live sinless. It means you live without sin having a major hold in your life. I still sin, but I don't struggle with all the SAME sins all the time that I used to. I've been given victory over so many things that used to plague me. There's one that I still struggle with, but I'm believing that God is going to give me victory over it, too.
The key is seeking His face. I'm completely serious. I love Jesus with all my heart, and my God is my strong tower. I look to Him to uphold me. And He does it every time.
John Ch. 15
