What is a good place to live in Tokyo?

I may be moving to Tokyo soon for work and will stay for about a year. What is a good and reasonably priced area to live?

I heard that Roppongi is full of expats which may make me feel more comfortable and increase the chance of meeting some English-speaking people. But I really don't know what the areas are like in Tokyo.

At the moment, I live in London and pay just over 拢1000 a month (excluding bills) for a large one-bed flat so something close to this price bracket would be ideal. What is a good place to live in Tokyo?
My fiance is Japanese and I just visited her in Tokyo last month. We were looking for apartments and I liked the area of Odaiba the best. Great restaurants, scenery is beautiful, It's on the water and there is even a little beach there too. The view across the water of the downtown Tokyo skyline is fantastic. There are high rise apartment buildings with great views and some of the prices are reasonable.

There is an area called the "Decks", which is like a board walk that travels along all sorts of shops, amusement rides, and a gigantic very modern convention center. There was some kind of car show there at the time I visited which was kind of cool.

Check out the link below for more info. on Odaiba. Tokyo is full of cool places to live. I just bought Rosetta Stone Japanese in case I move there. Oh, and If you can fly ANA (All Nippon Airlines) I highly recommend it. I flew from Washingon DC to Tokyo, 13 hour flight, and it was possibly the best flying experience I ever had in my life. I used miles to upgrade to business class. I usually fly coach, but for a flight that long, do anything you can to get business or first. No matter how nice an airline is, 13 hours is a LONG time to sit in coach.

Good luck and best wishes. I really loved Tokyo and I'm sure you will too.
The only way to grasp Tokyo for what it really is, is to live in the center of downtown Tokyo. Tokyo is an amazing city!

I lived in Tokyo for 20 years, and love Tokyo with every being in my body. The people nice, and grateful. You will never find nice people like in Tokyo. There is nice apartment building in Tokyo named Shinjuku, and they have great room with 3 bedrooms, and kitchen and a studio.

The price of it is 220,000 yen per month, which is not bad. You can either live in the high-life Tokyo, or in the ghetto with all the low-lifes.What is a good place to live in Tokyo?

I'm so jealous of you! I don't want to live in Tokyo, though. I would want to live in Kyoto. What is a good place to live in Tokyo?
